FRESH PRODUCE

Since 1997, the Fresh Produce Program has sourced and delivered millions of pounds of fresh, nutritious fruits and vegetables to the people served by the San Antonio Food Bank.
From Field to the Table
Our Frio County Food Bank works with farmers across the Texas Winter Garden to secure fresh produce to help people in need. Last year farmers, growers, packing sheds and shippers throughout our 16-county service area donated more than 16 million pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables through the Fresh Produce Program. Through commercial donations of excess produce or produce that is perfectly good but doesn’t meet the ideal specifications for retail sale, we can fight hunger and promote healthier diets among the people we serve.
