Eric S. Cooper

President & CEO

Known as that “Food Bank Guy” Eric Cooper is the President and CEO of the San Antonio Food Bank. Through his dual strategies of feeding the line and shortening the line, Eric has received national recognition. It is this holistic approach to serving the entire community that has garnered community support while delivering measurable impact.

Committed to extreme efficiencies, Eric works to bend the cost curve of nourishing the hungry while rescuing surplus food from going to waste. He brings people around the table as a proponent for compassion, community, and developing communities of conscience. National Geographic highlighted Eric’s commitment to building partnerships, sustainable agriculture, and the food economy.

Eric serves as a board member for Feeding Texas and Feeding America the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States. Locally he was appointed to serve on the board of Workforce Solutions Alamo and the San Antonio Housing Trust. Leveraging Food, Housing, and Employment Eric is a strong advocate for early childhood development and education.

Eric works tirelessly at the Federal, State and Local level to reduce rates of Food Insecurity and Poverty, believing that everyone should have access to good nutrition. Serving on the front lines he is a believer in the power of service to not only help those in need, but to heal those who serve. He is a man of Faith and Family. He and his wife Erinn of 30 years have five children; Madison, Morgan, Gabriel, Elijah, and Meredith.
