Food Donation Programs

Our food donation programs—Fresh Produce Rescue, Hunters for the Hungry, and Second Servings—help get fresh produce, game meat, and surplus meals to families in need. Learn about how these programs make it easy to give back and prevent good food from going to waste.

Fresh Produce Rescue

The San Antonio Food Bank rescues and delivers millions of pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to individuals across Southwest Texas.

Hunters For The Hungry

The Hunters for the Hungry program invites local hunters, processors, and managed land deer program permit holders to contribute specific animals for donation.

Second Servings

The Second Servings Program collects prepared and perishable food from area restaurants, hotels, caterers, and hospitals to distribute immediately to individuals living in emergency shelters.

Bulk & Retail Donations

The San Antonio Food Bank partners with farmers, grocers, and retailers to rescue high-quality surplus food and get it to families in need. This effort reduces waste while filling plates across our community. Join us in the fight against hunger—find out how you can get involved!

Looking for a convenient place in your neighborhood to drop off your food donation to the Food Bank? All San Antonio area Goodwill stores and donation centers have a San Antonio Food Bank red barrel for your non-perishable food donations.
