Fight Hunger With Every Step!

Lace up your running shoes and gather with friends, family, and the entire community on Thanksgiving morning for the San Antonio Food Bank’s annual Turkey Trot 5k Run & Walk. Every step you take and every registration fee will directly support the Food Bank’s mission to alleviate hunger throughout Southwest Texas this holiday season.

As you trot along the scenic route, take pride in knowing that you’re helping to ensure that no one in our city goes hungry. With smiles all around, cheerful volunteers, and a wonderful sense of togetherness, the Turkey Trot 5K promises a joyful and rewarding way to start your Thanksgiving. So, let’s run, let’s give, and let’s create a brighter holiday for everyone in San Antonio.

RACE PRICING

Every registration provides a turkey for a family facing hunger this holiday season.

PACKET PICK-UP

We highly encourage all to register for in person packet pick up, but if you can’t, or if you have family/friends that would like to support our endeavors from afar, a shipping option is available. Packets will include t-shirt, finisher medal, and swag.

2023 Race Route

This year’s race route starts and finishes at the historic Commander’s House, located in the heart of Downtown San Antonio. Along the route, runners can enjoy the views of the Riverwalk, La Villita Historic Village, and the Tower of the Americas!

Water stations will be located on S Presa Street and Arciniega and on the corner of Washington and Arsenal.

Due to race safety measures, the City of San Antonio will be closing roads around the Commander’s House at 7 AM. Please plan to arrive early to guarantee a spot. If you are using a ride share, please use the H-E-B Parking Garage on 407 Dwyer Ave. for drop-off and walk across Skybridge to the event.

Absolutely! No additional cost, or registration required to run with your stroller. Turkey Trot is a family friendly event!

Yes! No additional fee or registration is required to run alongside your favorite four-legged friend. We ask that all pets be properly secured on a leash or in a pet stroller throughout the duration of the entire event. Please be mindful of the safety and comfort of other race participants.

In the absence of severe weather conditions, the race will take place rain or shine. If severe weather, such as lightening or hail, compel us to cancel the event, we will do our best to provide notice well in advance of the event start time. Registration fees will not be refunded in the event of a severe weather cancellation.

Yes! Our incredible partners at H-E-B will be providing a host of race day refreshments for all Turkey Trot participants. Coffee, water and light snacks will be provided in the lead up to the race, with two additional water stations posted along the race route.

We encourage race participants to arrive as desired the morning of the race. Due to race safety measures, the City of San Antonio will be closing roads around the Commander’s House at 7 AM. Please plan accordingly in order to access parking for the event.

The race begins promptly at 8:30 AM at 622 S. Flores St., San Antonio, TX 78204.We are expecting around 6,000 runners this year, please remember that the starting line will close at 8:45 AM. If you arrive late, please stay on the sidewalks until you catch up with the pack.
