CHEF Evaluation

The San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB) invites proposals from qualified research entities to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of its Culinary Health Education for Families (CHEF) program. Grounded in the philosophy that food is medicine, CHEF provides hands-on culinary and nutrition education to promote sustainable, healthy behavior change in individuals and families across the community.

This Request for Proposal (RFP) seeks a partner to serve as Principal Investigator (PI) for a 12-month evaluation beginning July 1, 2025. The selected partner will assess and enhance data collection and management practices, conduct a comprehensive program impact analysis, and explore the feasibility of a longitudinal study to track long-term outcomes.

This is a key opportunity to help validate and strengthen the CHEF program’s role in improving community health. SAFB encourages proposals from organizations experienced in program evaluation, public health, and community-based research.
