Shannon Palomo’s Testimonial

“Every year you get close to your students and a bond is created.

As a teacher, instinctually you want to know if your children are ok, how their day is, and if they have eaten. I love that the SanAntonio Food Bank is mindful of those concerns as well.

Backpack food programs provide nutritious, non-perishable, easy-to-prepare food to students. The program ensures they get enough food to avoid hunger when they can’t depend on school meals.

Year after year the San AntonioFood Bank comes through with healthy meals so that the children can focus on learning – not food insecurity.”

Educator, San Antonio Independent School District

The San Antonio Food Bank currently partners with dozens of schools to provide food for children facing food insecurity over a weekend or holiday break. Through this program, food packs are distributed to children who are identified by caring teachers and staff members as showing signs that he or she is living in a high hunger-risk situation.
