When Fatuma’s family hit a rough patch, she turned to our Mobile Mercado for help.
The Mobile Mercado is our grocery truck on wheels that brings the availability of fresh fruits and vegetables to areas labeled as food deserts. These are generally parts of our city that see a scarcity of grocery stores and produce options.
Through our fresh produce program, she was able to bring home healthy vegetables to her growing family. Fatuma and her husband have one daughter and are expecting a second child.
Fatuma and her family have faced a hardship since she had to leave work due to her pregnancy. She expects to return to her job once she recovers.
Our program helps Fatuma keep her family happy and healthy. “I usually like to cook vegetables in our meals and now I’m able to continue making healthy dinners for my family.”
