What is The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP)?

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) empowers eligible individuals to enhance their diets by enabling them to purchase fresh and nutritious fruits and vegetables using SFMNP vouchers. These vouchers can be redeemed at participating farmers’ market associations, providing seniors with access to wholesome produce and promoting healthier eating habits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Participants must be at least 60 years old and meet the income guidelines below to qualify for our Senior Farmers Markets program. Each qualifying senior in a household may sign up separately to access SFMNP.

You may be eligible if your monthly income does not exceed:

  • 1 person household – $2,248
  • 2 person household – $3,041
  • 3 person household – $3,833
  • 4 person household – $4,625
  • 5 person household – $5,418
  • 6 person household – $6,210
  • 7 person household – $7,003
  • 8 person household – $8,795

Contact the closest site to you to schedule an appointment to sign up for the program. Please be sure to bring a picture ID that proves your name and age, a proof of address such as a utility bill, and proof of income such as an SSI award letter or current paystubs.

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) allows qualified participants to buy nutritious fresh fruits and vegetables using SFMNP vouchers from participating farmers’ market associations to improve their diets.

At this time, the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program does not offer delivery services.

To file a program discrimination complaint, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, AD-3027, found online at How to File a Program Discrimination Complaint and at any USDA office or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
