OUR ROLE IN FIGHTING HUNGER
The San Antonio Food Bank strives to maintain the highest standard of efficiency while providing food to those in need. With only a 2% overhead, 98% of donated resources go to help set the table for 105,000 individuals a week.
We rely on the generosity and support of local businesses, churches, foundations, corporations, government, civic groups and individuals in order to successfully continue serving Southwest Texans who are at risk for going hungry.

A portion of our food is generated from private and public donations, by individuals and corporate sponsors.

All donations are sorted at the Food Bank and are prepared for distribution to our network of more than 500 partners.

Our client service agencies span 29 counties in Southwest Texas to distribute perishable and non-perishable food items.

Food and resources are distributed to children, families, seniors, and individuals in need throughout Southwest Texas.
OUR IMPACT BY THE NUMBERS
We distributed over 74 million meals this past fiscal year, delivering the equivalent of a semi-trailer full of food every hour.
We currently serve 105,000 individuals each week through our networks of agencies and unique programs we offer.
We prepared 36,080 safety net applications federal benefits in FY24, which provided a local impact of 20,633,170 meals in our community.
Only a 2% overhead means that 98% of our resources go back into fighting hunger in our community.
We partner with over 550 charitable organizations throughout 29 counties in Southwest Texas.
The San Antonio Food Bank serves 29 counties across Southwest Texas, serving families from Atascosa to Zavala Counties. The San Antonio Food Bank supports the efforts of the New Braunfels Food Bank, Frio County Food Bank, and San Angelo Food Bank to provide food assistance to one of the largest service areas in Texas.
