Impacting While Impacted
Message From Our Ceo
Our mission is sustained by our core values of Integrity, Efficiency, and Impact. This report highlights the incredible accomplishments we delivered, together. I am so proud of how you showed up: enabling us to deliver for our 29 counties, support our partners, and nourish our neighbors through the challenges we’ve faced.
Construction has begun on the Apple Seeds Apartments, located on the campus of the New Braunfels Food Bank. Set for completion in summer 2026, this project will provide housing and programming for families. By combining food and shelter, we are delivering holistic, lasting support to our neighbors.
This past year, reductions in federal funding has been one of our biggest challenges. Unprecedented cuts to programs that stock our shelves—and fil our neighbors’ refrigerators—have made our work even more urgent. Our ability to blend government and private support is key to driving efficiency and ensuring we can continue to deliver balanced meals to children, families, and seniors. We are truly grateful for the support from our federal, state, county, and city governments and will need your voice to keep them at the table. Please stay informed by signing up for our newsletter at safoodbank.org.
Over the summer break, together we helped set the table for more than 200,000 children who lost access to their school meals. Special thanks to Harvey Najim, Coach Popovich, and friends who challenged our community to match their gifts and help “serve bright futures” by nourishing thousands of children. Because of you, kids throughout our 29 counties received summer meals.
On July 4th, tragedy hit many communities we care about. The losses were unimaginable—and in these moments, food conveyed what words could not. Our response was immediate in getting food and supplies to disaster areas. Starting in Kerrville, Hunt, Ingram, Comfort, and San Angelo, and ultimately 15 of our 29 counties. We’ve now shifted from emergency response to long-term recovery. We were there before, we were there during, and we will be there in the days ahead.
Whether you’ve given before or are just learning about our mission, there’s a place for everyone in the fight against hunger. It all starts at safoodbank.org.
