With inflation and used car values increasing, there’s been an influx in the number of Texans denied SNAP benefits due to the Vehicle Asset Test. This includes many Texans who previously qualified for benefits.
Texas must modernize the SNAP Vehicle Asset Test by applying an inflationary adjustment to the current limits. No family should lose their ability to put food on the table because of inflation in the car market.
