Together, We Nourish Community
Every meal made possible by the San Antonio Food Bank has a community behind it. A farmer who shares a harvest. A grocer that rescues surplus food. A donor who gives what they can. A volunteer who sorts and packs. A truck driver who moves food across the region. A community partner who opens its doors. A benefits specialist who helps a neighbor access resources. And a neighbor who gets the nourishment they need to keep moving forward.
The San Antonio Food Bank brings all of these people, resources and partnerships together to nourish communities across 29 counties in Southwest Texas.
We Can’t Fight Hunger Alone
A Community-Powered Mission
Every week, we make over 120,000 meals possible for neighbors across Southwest Texas. Behind every one is our community coming together. From rescuing and growing food to preparing, moving and distributing it, our work is powered by thousands of donors, volunteers, and hundreds of community partners across 29 counties.
While our mission begins with food, it doesn’t end there. We help connect neighbors with benefits, job training, nutrition education and other wraparound services that support stability.
Our work is complex and our purpose is simple:
to make sure our neighbors have access to the nourishment and resources needed to thrive.
