Our Facilities
Fighting Hunger
Deep In The Heart Of Texas
Our expansive 210,000-square-foot facility, situated on a sprawling 40-acre campus on the west side of San Antonio, was thoughtfully designed to be more than just a distribution center — it serves as a vital hub for the entire community. This state-of-the-art facility plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between those who have resources to give and those who need support, fostering a network of generosity and assistance. With ample space for food storage, sorting, and distribution, as well as areas dedicated to community engagement and volunteer efforts, our facility ensures that nutritious food and essential supplies reach individuals and families facing food insecurity efficiently and with dignity.

Mays Family
Culinary Center
The Mays Family Culinary Center at the San Antonio Food Bank is a cutting-edge facility designed to produce hundreds of thousands of meals annually, expanding our ability to fight hunger in the community. Equipped with an on-site venison processing facility for our Hunters for the Hungry program, it transforms donated game into nutritious meals for those in need. The center is also home to our state-certified culinary training kitchen, empowering individuals with professional skills and hands-on experience to build sustainable careers in the food industry.

Harvey E. Najim Children’s Pavilion
The Harvey E. Najim Children’s Pavilion was designed to offer a welcoming, shaded space where families and children can comfortably volunteer in our gardens. This open-air venue provides a serene and scenic setting for the community. Beyond its role in supporting our volunteers, the pavilion serves as a versatile gathering space, available for a variety of events, from educational workshops to special celebrations.

Community Kitchen
We operate three kitchens across the San Antonio Food Bank, Haven for Hope, and the New Braunfels Food Bank, each dedicated to fighting hunger and empowering individuals. Our community kitchen not only provides nutritious meals to those in need but also serves as a training ground for job seekers, equipping them with valuable culinary skills for a pathway to employment in the food industry.

Warehouse
The San Antonio Food Bank processes over one million pounds of food every week. Upon arrival, every donation is carefully weighed, inventoried, and efficiently distributed through our programs and network of partner agencies, ensuring that nutritious food reaches individuals and families in need as quickly as possible.

Valero Community
Engagement Center
This versatile space can accommodate up to 300 guests for meetings or events, providing a dynamic setting for gatherings of all kinds. We welcome our community and business partners to reserve the space and enhance their experience by adding a guided tour or a hands-on service project, fostering a deeper connection to our mission of fighting hunger.

Volunteer Lobby
Each week, approximately 1,000 dedicated volunteers walk through the doors of the San Antonio Food Bank, giving their time and energy to the fight against hunger. Whether working in our kitchen, tending to the garden, organizing donations in the warehouse, their efforts make a direct and lasting impact on our community.
Please note that our lobby area will be undergoing renovations in the near future — stay tuned for updates on these exciting improvements!

New Braunfels
Food Bank
To better serve the growing needs of Comal and Guadalupe counties, the San Antonio Food Bank established the New Braunfels Food Bank in New Braunfels, TX. This branch facility, which opened in August 2017, expands our reach and ensures that more families have access to nutritious food and essential resources.

Frio County
Food Bank
Located in Pearsall, Texas, the Frio County Food Bank partners with farmers across Southwest Texas to source fresh, donated produce straight from the fields. This vital collaboration ensures that locally grown fruits and vegetables are gathered, prepared, and transported efficiently to our main facility, helping to nourish families in need.
