Southside ISD thanks San Antonio Food Bank in a big way

SAN ANTONIO- The Southside Independent School District gave a big thank you to the San Antonio Food Bank for all the help the organization has done for the community there.

The district and the Food Bank formed a partnership in April when the pandemic flared.

Each month, the Food Bank provides food to more than 5,000 people who live in the Southside school district,

The district honored food bank CEO Eric Cooper for the work he continues to do to help families in need.

"It''s a huge positive impact on our families. Families are looking forward to the distribution. They go out through the week just waiting for this day and they're here from 5:30 in the morning and the assistance is greatly needed so we're very thankful to the Food Bank for being able to provide this for our families."

The San Antonio Food Bank has helped feed about 30,000 people in the district over the past year.
