San Antonio Food Bank plans more food distributions for this week

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Food Bank distributed food to thousands of families on Tuesday.

The mobile distribution was at Gustafson Stadium, located at 7001 Culebra Road at Loop 410. Almost 3,000 families registered to receive food. People began lining up their cars before midnight Monday evening to get groceries when the distribution opened up at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Another distribution will take place on Friday at the Toyota Field. Click here to register.

Before the pandemic, the San Antonio Food Bank normally would feed about 60,000 people a week. Currently, the nonprofit is feeding 120,000 people a week and projects that it will eventually be feeding about 180,000 people a week.
