SA Food Bank celebrates 9th annual 'Harvest From the Heart'

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Food Bank celebrated its 9th annual "Harvest From the Heart" campaign Wednesday.

The campaign secures donations of fresh fruit and vegetables to families in need during the holiday season.

The food bank and H-E-B handed out bags filled with produce in a drive-thru style.

They say this year's harvest is on track to be more than 2-million pounds, which will help a lot of people provide a healthy nutritious meal for their families.

Eric Cooper, SA Food Bank CEO & President said, "When you think of the holidays, it's extra special to have the right food and the right amounts at the right time to be able to really nourish and all of us need to consume more fresh fruits and vegetables."

This tradition from farmers and produce vendors from across the United States is a much needed gift during the holiday season.
