The Garden Worker will assist in the implementation of the Community Garden Initiative in partnership with members of other SAFB departments such as Development, Operations to be able to bring resources for this initiative and distribute fresh produce to the network of agencies. Person will help maintain farm, garden, landscapes and assist in volunteer engagement.
Summer Feeding Service Monitor
The monitor conducts site visitations on a regular basis and observes meal service operations during the course of the summer. At a minimum, one monitor is needed for every 15 to 20 sites. Monitors are critical to the successful operation of our Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).

The Director of Community Investments oversees all corporate, organization, and faith-based relationships for the organization and manages a team of 8 individuals. Nutrition Education Coordinator
The Nutrition Education Coordinator will implement the Nutrition, Health & Wellness Curriculum and Gardening initiatives at different schools, community based organizations in partnership with teachers/educators, nutrition professionals/dietitians, chefs and other community workers. Duties include scheduling and conducting nutrition, health & wellness and gardening classes, building school and urban gardens and training organizations on their maintenance.
Rural Children’s Program Coordinator – Sous Chef
The Sous Chef coordinates related culinary activities under the direction of the Executive Chef including estimating food consumption and creating requisitions or purchases of food; selecting and developing recipes; standardizing production recipes to ensure consistent quality; establishing presentation techniques and quality standards; planning and pricing menus; ensuring proper equipment operation/maintenance; and ensuring proper safety and sanitation in kitchen. Oversees special catering events as needed and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrate culinary techniques. Supervises any kitchen personnel to include volunteers in the absence of the Executive Chef.
