SAN ANTONIO - H-E-B, which has been at the forefront of the COVID-19 pandemic with its efforts to protect shoppers, as well as providing incentives to employees who have been working along the frontlines, will soon announce another campaign to fight hunger.

The San Antonio-based grocer plans to launch a new initiative on Wednesday to help food banks throughout the state of Texas.

Back in March, H-E-B donated $3 million to various coronavirus relief efforts and delivered 15 truck-loads of food to food banks across the state, including the San Antonio Food Bank.

In the months since the pandemic started, H-E-B has also participated in massive efforts to feed frontline workers. But perhaps the initiative that has garnered the most praise for H-E-B was its decision to provide temporary raises and bonuses to employees working during the first couple months of the pandemic. The incentives later transitioned into a permanent program of long-term investments.

We will cover H-E-B's announcement on Wednesday and bring you the latest updates as soon as they are available.
