With your company’s support, the Food Bank will distribute close to 50 million pounds of food in fiscal year 2014. Through our programs and services, we help 58,000 individuals each week.

Philanthropic Gifts

Food Distribution Programmatic Underwriting

Mobile Pantry & Food Fair Underwriting

The San Antonio Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry program distributes approximately 10,000 pounds of food to 200 families in a 3-hour window. Using refurbished beverage trucks with different compartments that can be refrigerated  allows the Food Bank to distribute nutritious food to a large number of families in a short time. The Food Bank’s Food Fair program is similar to the Mobile Pantry program , but on a much larger scale. In one day, Food Fairs distribute 20,000 pounds of food to 200 families.  Underwrite a Mobile Pantry or a Food Fair and bring your corporate team out to volunteer on distribution day! One-time or recurring opportunities are available.

Kids Café

The Food Bank’s Kids Café program distributes hot, nutritious meals to many children throughout the city who may not otherwise receive their third meal of the day. The Food Bank partners with afterschool programs, many of which also provide homework help. Each Kids Café location serves anywhere from 35 to 145 children a day. Sponsorships are available on a one-time, month-long or year-long basis. Sponsorship of a Kids Café location also includes the opportunity to visit the site for a special party.

Summer Food Service

When school is out, low-income children lose their access to daily school lunches and breakfasts. The Summer Food Service Program aims to fill this void. It provides nutritious meals and snacks to children during this time.  Each  location serves anywhere from 10 to 350 children each day. Sponsorships are available on a one-time, month-long or summer-long basis. Sponsorship of a Summer Food Service location also includes the opportunity to visit the site for a special party.

Project HOPE Underwriting

Project HOPE is a program that provides supplemental groceries to seniors in our community. Project HOPE boxes are distributed at senior centers through the Food Bank’s service area. Each box is filled with shelf-stable food items  designed to supplement a senior’s monthly food needs. Sponsor a Project HOPE location on a one-time or recurring basis and bring your corporate team to the Food Bank to help build boxes.

Food & Fund Drives

We rely on Food & Fund Drives to bring in nearly 1.5 million pounds of food each year. A Food & Fund Drive could be a third-party event or it could just be your organization making a commitment to collect food. Cause Marketing

Cause marketing partnerships help you reach your customers and promote your brand while supporting the fight against hunger. It is also a great tool for engaging employees while linking your brand to the Food Bank’s vital mission.

We can work with you to create a mutually beneficial partnership that aligns with your business and sales goals through transactional activities, percentage of sales, product based programs, joint messaging, public relations events and grass roots fundraising.

In-Kind Donations

The San Antonio Food Bank is always seeking donations of products and services to keep our costs down and our resources directed towards feeding those in need. In-kind donations from corporate partners are an efficient and easy way to help, and may be tax-deductible. Consider donating printing services, event space, creative and professional services, silent auction items and advertising placements.
