Texas heat and snow cones go hand-in-hand. But they could also be the summer treat that can fight hunger!

Declan combined his love of giving back and snow cones to help out the Food Bank during one of our greatest times of need — summer.

“It’s very hot in Texas and snow cones are a good way to cool off,” he says.

Declan has been selling snow cones daily to friends and family members at the Carver Community Center and giving the proceeds to the Food Bank.

This isn’t the first time Declan has selflessly given back to the community. For his third birthday, he asked for food donations to the Food Bank instead of gifts. He’s also given sandwiches to the homeless.

Declan and his parents occasionally volunteer in our sorting room on the weekends as well.

What a great example of how a little ice can go a long way.
