The San Antonio Food Bank and Families Empowered hosted a free school fair as the new school year inches closer.

Families who made it out on Saturday received a bag full of fresh produce from the food bank and all kids in attendance got a free sack lunch.

Parents were able to get helpful information with free school applications as an estimated 78% of parents are still interested in learning about school options for the upcoming year.

"If any family needs any help finding a school that works for their kid regardless of what kind of school they're looking for, are you looking for you public ISD school, are you looking for a public charter school, are you looking for a private school? What about home school options?” said Ayla Dehghanpoor with Families Empowered. “Families Empowered is always here for free for any family that needs our help you can visit us on families empowered dog org and you can always get help in English and in Spanish."
