Orientation & Food In, Food Out

Learn about our programs, agency eligibility requirements and the overall application and approval process. During this training we will also discuss how to access product from the San Antonio Food Bank and how to store product and how to determine client eligibility. We will cover best practices keeping in mind the policies and procedures outlined in the Agency Guidebook.

New staff at current agencies are required to attend within two months of change.

Grant Writing Orientation

Nutrition Education Series

Join us for one or all NINE sessions with our Health, Wellness & Nutrition Division staff. They will help teach you how to present a food demo, the new food guidelines called MyPlate, and many other tidbits that can help you and your clients.

Food Handlers Class

Join us for a full-day class for the Food Handlers Certificate. This class will be taught by our Director of Culinary Arts. Food Safety is very important to the San Antonio Food Bank and to the clients we serve. Knowing how to handle the food you are distributing will greatly improve the safety of the products you give to clients. Please join us!  Cost:  $10 per person to cover materials and test.

Agency Express 3.0

Starting April 2014, the San Antonio Food Bank offers a real-time order system for our partner agencies. Check out our easy-to-follow handout and watch our tutorial video to get a good idea on how to use this system. The video has great tips on how to make the most of the Shopping List and many helpful hints. All new volunteers/staff should watch this video to become familiar with the system.
